After Sunday's shocking loss to Bochum, Bayern Munich had not lost three games in a row since 2015.

Harry Kane's late goal couldn't save England 3-2; Kevin Stoger's penalty did.

After a 3-0 loss against championship rivals Bayer Leverkusen, who lead the Bundesliga by eight points, and a 1-0 Champions League first-leg loss to Lazio,

After a better effort, coach Thomas Tuchel said the Bochum result was “not deserved” yet the losing streak is the worst since May 2015.

On that occasion, Pep Guardiola's team lost 2-0 against Leverkusen in the league.

They lost 3-0 to Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final first leg, with Lionel Messi and Neymar scoring late goals, and subsequently lost to Augsburg in the Bundesliga

Leon Goretzka's post-match statement to the club's website: “It feels like a horror film that doesn't stop” was more fitting. We have everything against us.

Dayot Upamecano, the storyline's protagonist, was sent off for conceding penalties that gave Lazio and Bochum the winning goals.

Six years, 39 games. Last time Bayern Munich lost a Champions League group stage game was that long ago.

This makes Tuesday's match against Bayern extra difficult for Manchester United.

United must defeat Bayern to avoid an ugly Champions League exit after losing to Bournemouth.
