Utah, Colorado try to improve seeding for Pac-12 Tournament

 Utah and Colorado have plenty to play for Saturday night in Boulder, Colo. 

 even though a Pac-12 Conference regular-season championship is unlikely. 

 The Buffaloes (17-9, 8-7 Pac-12) are one game shy of a top-four spot, and the Utes (16-10, 7-8) are two games behind UCLA (14-12, 9-6). Pac-12 Tournament first-round byes go to the top four seeds. 

 Utah and Colorado are fresh off thrilling wins over UCLA and Southern California. 

 The Buffaloes beat the Trojans 92-89 in double overtime from a 16-point second-half deficit on Feb. 

 In the win, KJ Simpson scored 30, Tristan da Silva 18 and 8 rebounds, and Cody Williams 14 points. 

 It helped Colorado split in Los Angeles after falling 64-60 at UCLA on Feb. 15. Buffaloes were 1-4 in their previous five games before upsetting USC. 

 Simpson's dunk on Luke O'Brien with 3.7 seconds left prompted 

 On Thursday night, the Lopes lost their third game to Tarleton State, eliminating their NCAA Tournament hopes.  

 It means they can only reach the Big Dance through the WAC Tournament's automatic bid in a few weeks.
