North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's strong sister has hinted at the regime's

exceptional chance to ease months of intense tension on the Korean Peninsula.

He has previously declared his desire to move the decades-old matter forward, even if it means having direct discussions with Kim Jong Un.

Pyongyang stated that it could consent to negotiations with Tokyo, but only if the Japanese leader backed off from their primary discussion point.

He was reportedly born in North Korea in the period between 1982 and 1984.

Kim is the grandson of the first Supreme Leader, Kim Il-sung, and the son of the previous leader, Kim Jong-il.
