Outlander's Sophie Skelton lands leading role in Hollywood thriller away from series

Sophie Skelton has been cast as the lead in a new thriller that will begin filming in Scotland later this year.

She is most recognized for her role as Brianna Fraser in Outlander, in which she co-stars with Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, and Richard Rankin. 

Sophie will co-star in the UK thriller Row with Bella Dayne and Akshay Khanna, with filming due to begin in Scotland in a few weeks.

Row follows the aftermath of a lady washing ashore on a bloodstained rowboat, her crewmates gone and assumed dead.

She must piece together her jumbled recollections in order to prove her innocence.

Row marks the directorial and writing debuts of Matthew Losasso and Nick Skaugen. "A vast ocean appears to stretch infinitely in all directions, 

yet the lack of space on board the Valiant fuels paranoia and intense drama." "It's an engrossing and fantastically ambitious script," Matthew told The Hollywood Reporter.
