‘Outlander’ Prequel ‘Blood of My Blood’ Reveals Cast: Meet Jamie & Claire’s Parents

Outlander's prequel spinoff, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, is getting underway as Starz announces the cast and the start of production.

The project will follow the romances of Jamie's (Sam Heughan) and Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) parents.

As shooting on the 10-episode season begins in Scotland, the show will be staged twice, with each episode focusing on a different pair.

Harriet Slater as Ellen MacKenzie, Jamie Roy as Brian Fraser, Hermione Corfield as Julia Moriston, and Jeremy Irvine as Henry Beauchamp will all play major roles in the production.

As previously stated, Blood of My Blood delves into the lives and relationships of Jamie's parents, Ellen and Brian, but Claire's parents, Julia and Henry, are new characters.

The drama will focus on two parallel love tales set in vastly different historical periods:

Jamie's parents in the early 18th century Scottish Highlands and Claire's parents in World War I England.

We're excited to share the story of these two couples. The origins of their relationships explore universal themes that transcend time periods,

we're thrilled for fans to discover and fall in love with these characters and their love stories in the same way that they did with Claire and Jamie," says Matthew B. Roberts, showrunner, executive producer, and writer for both series.
