Mia Mckenna-Bruce won the EE BAFTA Rising Star Award.

Mia Mckenna-Bruce has won the EE BAFTA Rising Star Award.

The public-voted prize was presented to the actress at the BAFTA ceremony at London's Royal Festival Hall on Sunday (18.02.24).

Mia was nominated with Phoebe Dynevor. Ayo Edebiri. Jacob Elordi and Sophie Wilde.

She took to the stage to accept her prize, paying thanks to the cast and crew as well as her friends and family.

She said, "Thank you very much, BAFTA. To be able to do what I love most in the world and have others say, 'Yeah, that's sort of cool,' is incredible."

Mia's win came after the BAFTAs awarded 'Oppenheimer' Best Film.

The historical saga, directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Cillian Murphy, won Best Film over 'Anatomy of a Fall', 'The Holdovers', 'Killers of the Flower Moon', and 'Poor Things'.

With 13 nominations, the picture rapidly won seven awards, including Best Director for Nolan, Leading Actor for Murphy, and Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr.

Cillian accepted his award and remarked, "Oh boy, holy moly, thank you very, very much BAFTA."

He finished by saying, "fellow nominees and my Oppenhomies, I know it's a cliche to say, but I'm in awe of you."
