Authorities in Texas reported on Tuesday that the body of Audrii Cunningham, an 11-year-old boy who had gone missing, had been discovered in the Trinity River

 Don Steven McDougal, 42, in detention for an unrelated matter, will be charged with capital murder for her killing, Polk County District Attorney Shelly Sitton stated at a news conference.

 A case will be launched "based on all the evidence," she said.

 Sheriff Byron Lyons said the suspect, telephone data, and citizen social media pictures led them locate the body near Highway 59 in the county.

 Officials say Cunningham was missing since leaving her Polk County home at 7 a.m. Thursday to catch a school bus.

 Polk County Sheriff's officers said she never got on the bus or went to school.

 An Amber Alert was issued for the 4-foot-1 blonde-blue-eyed toddler. 

 Black slacks, a black hoodie with white lettering, and black tennis shoes were her Thursday outfit.

 Officials said McDougal was detained Friday on suspicion of aggravated assault in an unrelated incident, making him “one of the persons of interest” in the probe.
