Jane Fonda warned Jennifer Lopez over PDAs with Ben Affleck

Jane Fonda advised Jennifer Lopez to tone down her public demonstrations of devotion for her husband Ben Affleck.

The veteran actress has been good friends with Jennifer since they starred together in the 2005 film 'Monster-in-Law,

And Jane agreed to take part in Jennifer's new film 'This Is Me... Now,' inspired by her revived romance with Ben - but Jane was hesitant to participate in a film that celebrated the couple's real-life relationship.

According to Variety, Jane told Jennifer's manager Benny Medina, "I believe that everyone in the world is rooting for this relationship and this love." And the way you deliver it is extremely crucial.

"It should be handled in a way that you aren't overly flaunting it, so much so that it creates any form of criticism or resentment."

In a conversation recorded for the new documentary 'The Greatest Love Story Never Told,' Jane also told Jennifer directly about dialing down her PDAs with Ben, saying:

"I want you to know that I don't entirely understand why, but I feel invested in you and Ben, and I really want this to work.

"But this is my concern. It feels too much like you're attempting to prove something rather than simply live it. You know, every other shot shows the two of you kissing and hugging."

Jennifer downplayed her concerns, stating, "That's just us living our lives."

Jane also stated she became concerned about the couple's relationship when Ben was shown looking unhappy at the 2023 Grammy Awards.
