Cowboys have lined up a DC replacement. Dan Quinn goes.

Dan Quinn, the Cowboys' defensive coordinator, could return as head coach, but the team has a potential alternative in mind.

According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys could approach former Carolina Panthers and Washington Commanders head coach Ron Rivera if the 53-year-old DC quits.

Quinn, meantime, has a second interview with the Commanders scheduled for Tuesday, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post.

He allegedly visited with the Seattle Seahawks for the second time last week.

e helped Seattle win its first Super Bowl in 2013-14, developing players like cornerback Richard Sherman.

Because he has significant ties to the organisation, it wouldn't be surprising if he becomes its new HC.

If Quinn takes either of these positions, Rivera would be a suitable replacement. He spent six seasons as the Bears and Chargers' defensive coordinator.

In four seasons with Washington, the Commanders rated top five in the league in yards and points allowed two times.
