Ben Chiarot scored 1:06 into overtime, Patrick Kane recorded his 800th career assist, and the Detroit Red Wings upset the Seattle Kraken 4-3 on Monday

Dylan Larkin's backhand pass found Chiarot, who beat Joey Daccord from the slot. The defenseman scored his fourth goal of the season and first since Dec. 31.

“That balanced scoring has been our key to success all year,” said Detroit coach Derek Lalonde.

We always talk about our forward depth scoring.

Our defense is also   c0ntributing a lot.

In regulation, Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond, and Daniel Sprong scored for the Red Wings, who won two straight on a 2-2-0 road trip.

Detroit has the Eastern Conference's second wild-card slot after going 12-4-2 since Jan. 1.

Alex Lyon rebounded after allowing 11 goals in losses to Edmonton and Vancouve to make 38 saves.

“It’s just a blip on the radar, and that’s how you treat it,” Lyon added.

“It feels bad in the moment, but you have to understand the bigger picture and know that things will always turn around if you work hard and do the right things.

Kane gave Seider the game's first goal at 13:30 during the first period, his milestone assist.
